It means looking beyond finishes and square footage to understand what makes a home special—its proportions, materials, craftsmanship, history, and relationship to its neighborhood.
My role is to help you recognize those qualities, understand what you're looking at, and know when you've found something worth carrying forward.
LOOKING BEYOND THE LISTING
The best houses reveal themselves slowly.
A listing can tell you the number of bedrooms, the square footage, and the year a house was built. It can't tell you everything that matters.
When I walk through a home with a buyer, I'm looking at the things that aren't always obvious: original materials, alterations made over time, quality of construction, architectural details, and how the house has been cared for.
Sometimes the most important question isn't simply, “Is this the right house?” It's also, “What makes this house worth choosing?”
UNDERSTANDING WHAT YOU’RE BUYING
Character is valuable. So is knowing what comes with it.
Buying an older or distinctive home sometimes means looking beyond what you can see at first glance.
Original windows, electrical systems, foundations, roofs, additions, previous renovations, and even the materials used decades ago can all become part of the conversation. Some are simply part of owning an older home. Others deserve a closer look.
My job isn't to make those things frightening—or to pretend they don't matter. It's to help you ask the right questions, bring in the right professionals when needed, and understand what you're considering before you make a decision.
The goal isn't a perfect house. It's an informed decision about the right house.
